我Ai

This is a short bilingual spoken-word poem I wrote about the narrator’s and their dad’s conversation about the use of AI. The narrator describes how their dad’s use of AI assisted tools to speak to them is creating tension between them. The font size and bolds are used to emphasize the narrator’s frustration towards their dad’s use of AI. I incorporated homophone of the 我 (Ài meaning love) and AI, Mandarin and Cantonese (languages that my family speak), computer terms, and quotes from my dad in this poem, transforming it into a personal message to my dad who struggles with English. It was first published in Clamor’s 20th Anniversary Journal.

Genre: Poetry. Completed in June 2025. First published in Clamor Literary and Art’s Journal 20th Anniversary Edition on June 2026.
