Hi, my name is Dev Phung (any pronouns), and I am an Asian American multimedia artist residing in Washington. I love to draw, paint, craft, take photos, make collages, and write poetry in my spare time. I always seek inspiration and new ways to express myself everywhere I go, whether it’s online or in-person.
Artist Statement
As a multimedia artist, I tend to take inspiration from my own personal experiences and feelings and try to give them life through my art and writing while experimenting with different forms, materials, and techniques. Art and creative writing have always been my space to express myself when I can’t find myself to do it vocally due to barriers, and I find comfort in creating them. They have helped me process my own feelings and experiences while also giving me room to vent my thoughts out into the world when times are difficult for me. Each of my pieces reflects a different spot in my life. Some of them may be somber and melancholic like “Crimson Fragmentation“, representing how my heart is becoming more introspective. Others may be happier like “Me(i)“, meant to reflect where my life is currently heading and how I am healing. All of my work together creates a new space open to viewers to learn more about me.
