Self-Portrait

This is a portrait of myself sitting near a backyard door, capturing my own self in a time where I feel beautiful when I see myself and am more expressive with myself when I go out more. I experimented with a mix of charcoal and graphite, and used a mirror to use my reflection as a reference. I used vine charcoal for shading and drawing mostly the background and broad details like the body, clothing, and hair. I also used graphite and compressed charcoal for drawing and shading the face, glasses, and strands of hair. An eraser was also used for highlighting the hair and clothing and refining the face.
